Anti-Racism School of the Year - Commended
The Advancing Race Equality Awards judges were deeply impressed by Model School's ethos of 'Celebrating Diversity'. It is a school where teachers and staff put the pupil at the centre of everything and where the main priority is to nurture and support every young person to achieve their full potential. With its key aim of creating a welcoming, culturally inclusive environment, The Model should be the model other schools look to for inspiration.

Throughout her teaching career Michelle Ramsey has sought to promote integration and celebrate cultural diversity. The judges spoke of her clear passion for education and her obvious desire to see children from all faiths, backgrounds and traditions thrive. The ethos Michelle has instilled as principal of Model Primary School and Nursery will no doubt provide pupils with a strong sense of wrong and right as they grow and prepare to enter adulthood.
